The UNITEx™ range of cable glands addresses the following challenges experienced within the offshore marine hazardous areas industry.
Explosive gasses, aggressive corrosive atmospheres, water ingress, deluge and humid conditions, unfilled and multicore cables, NEK 606 cables susceptible to significant cold flow, extreme high and low temperatures and the generally difficult conditions when installing glands.
Captive Component Gland® guarantees that all the safety-critical parts of the cable gland are held captive within the gland so that at the time of installation these parts cannot get lost, be left out or be incorrectly fitted.
Simple Two-Part installation process speeds up the installation process and guarantees a correct first-time installation. Multi Armour Cone and cone ring clamps both SWA and Braid armoured cable without internal cone and cone rings needing to be reversed thus reducing the need for inspection at commissioning.
Gland entry thread gasket is an integral part of the cable gland and is fully condition tested as part of the cable gland to IEC 60079-0 and then IP66/68 and DTS-01 deluge tested. This guarantees the thread seal will last the lifetime of the gland.
Variable Deluge Seal™, seals to the DTS-01 standard for deluge as well as IP66/68, protecting the amour lock and gland internals from corrosion.
Internal diaphragm seal seals on the inner sheath of the cable with zero pressure on soft cable bedding completely eliminating the problems of cold flow in conformance with IEC 60079-14-10.2 and offshore marine standard IEC 61892-7-10.3.
VORTEx™ inspectable injection resin barrier gland® for Ex d installations guarantees that the resin will be accurately and instantly mixed and all the voids within the cable have been filled. This is critical for offshore gas production facilities where gas migration through cables is a common occurrence. Equipment can be energized in minutes rather than hours which is important on production facilities where limiting downtime is critical.
CCG’s Superior Marine Grade Electroless Nickel Plating™ of 12 microns thickness has been independently tested for resistance to corrosive salt and sulphur dioxide atmospheres to ASTM B117-11 and BS EN ISO 3231 standards giving a longer service life in highly corrosive installations.
Tested and certified to the latest editions of ATEX, IECEx standards to Ex e, Ex nR, Ex t and Ex d equipment protection levels as well as to EAC Russian, INMETRO Brazilian, SANS standards.”
